I love this series and eagerly await the release of the adjacent installment. A serial that focuses/concentrates on one romantic couple is non usually my affair, just quite a few friends (including some who take never steered me wrong) here on GR's started posting amazing reviews about the starting time one Fatal Affair. Their reviews and comments praised both the book and the author all the way so I took the plunge…..Once I started reading it I was hooked and accept continued to read and love every unmarried one!

Later on reading the previous books I was wondering where the next volume would take usa but again Ms. Strength has pulled it off over again! It is a brilliant Romantic Suspense, ok it does focus mainly on the suspense side of things only we still do go to see some romance betwixt the newly married couple and I love the chemistry/connection between the 2 of them. Both Nick and Sam have very busy jobs, he is a U.Southward. Senator and she is a D.C. police Lieutenant commanding her team of detectives and juggling numerous murder cases, some of which get solved but others that have been on-going throughout the series. In some ways I would love to see those cases solved and exist given the answers but in others I very much want them to proceed, which is unusual for me as I tend to go impatient and terminate up giving up with the series….merely not this i! When we practise finally get some answers then I am hoping that Ms Force has already set up new ones to grip us then that the serial continues.

The main focus of this story is another high profile example whereby the wife of the White Business firm deputy chief of staff has been beaten to death, and their ane-year-old daughter is missing. As with previous books the story lines are gripping and kept me interested correct until the end. We see Nick and Sam adjusting to married life and trying to juggle their heavy schedules to get some quality fourth dimension together. Sam is showtime to open up more and more to Nick and realise that she can depend on him that he is there for her and loves her deeply. They start to observe that she likes a lilliputian bit of kink in their dearest making and they kickoff to explore this, and Nick encourages her to let him know what else excites her so that they can explore that too.

I would beg Ms. Force to delight delight write faster merely then I do know that she also writes other serial too and that these things take a little time, but I know that future installments will be well worth the wait!

If you dear a really practiced romantic suspense trust me when I say you need to endeavor this one….yous won't be disappointed!

Information technology was perplexing to unravel, even though early suspicions point in an obvious direction every bit the details weren't as apparent. Relationships continue to move forrard and provide plenty of depth to the story. Sam and Nick are fast becoming a favorite couple and the people surrounding them make interesting secondary storylines. Police Lieutenant Sam Holland is in charge of the murder investigation, but she's forced to interact with Special Victims Unit detectives as well as thorn-in-her-side FBI Special Agent Avery Colina. And then, a cold case of her father'south resurrects former hurts--a distraction Sam cannot afford.
As Sam's investigation heats up, and then does Nick's political career--and the heat carries over to their chamber. Will Sam put the pieces together in fourth dimension to catch a killer and notice the babe, or will ambition, greed and lies evidence fatal?

Would I recommend this serial - yous betcha! Ii thumbs up!

The introduction of FBI Special Agent Avery Hill, was smashing, and I really liked him. I practice hope he can overcome his feelings for Sam, and discover picayune Tinkerbell aka Shelby.

Information technology's difficult not to get sucked in. If I were to imagine myself as a detective of some sort, I sure would hope to be like Sam.

In Fatal Deception, Lt. Sam has to face nevertheless another high contour case. One which could potentially bear on the Office of the President, if the targets aren't neutralized. Along with the headlining example, we see more of Scotty and more of Nick'due south campaign for Senator (and possibly the White House in the virtually future?). Likewise Special Amanuensis Hall is dorsum, and I'm left to speculate what his interest will be in future books peculiarly considering that his romantic interest in Sam doesn't seem to exist wavering.

Hopefully you'll all enjoy this fast paced book as much as I did. Somehow Marie Force has been able to capture my utmost attending with her Fatal Serial these past few weeks. I've had mixed feelings nearly Marie Force's contemporaries (albeit I haven't all the same started on her much-beloved McCarthys of Gansett Island serial)... but I absolutely dearest her unabridged romantic suspense Fatal series. Featuring the same couple in a series of books can be a risky proposition (unless you're Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb and that couple is Eve & Roarke), since--much as information technology is on tv set-- it is like shooting fish in a barrel for the plots to become either repetitive or increasingly far-fetched and the characters staid or overly melodramatic in a desperate bid to proceed readers interested when it is clear the series has run its course. Marie Force has managed to avert these pitfalls through five full-length novels and i novella featuring the power couple of Nick & Sam and their merry band of incredibly realistic and fleshed-out secondary characters. In fact, the sixth instalment--FATAL Deception-- is the best yet! The writing is incredibly crisp, the pacing tight, the suspense plot (my i gripe with the previous offering) gripping & fresh, and the romance and emotional growth of all the chief & secondary characters both realistic and heartwarming. And the honey scenes are getting HOT!

I would suggest reading from the beginning of the series, just there are ongoing small recaps re background data in each book if you haven't and each book could be read every bit a stand solitary.

There are several points of view, including some of Sam & Nick's friends and other side romances, which I liked. I ordinarily don't enjoy ongoing series featuring one couple only, because information technology can get stale quickly, so the other couples intermission upwards the main romance and make everything more interesting. This is front and eye Sam and Nick'due south story though and they are the main feature of each volume, as is each investigation. There is action, drama, heartbreak and fun, plus lots of red herrings re the murders and very involved crime cases that fan out from those.

There'south an ongoing cold case equally the backstory throughout all the books, featuring an old investigation involving her disabled ex-cop begetter. There are different murders/investigations in each book that do wrap up at the finish, including the murder in this one. The sexual activity scenes are nicely written and very steamy.

I'm afraid that all the political stuff does become over my head and I tend to skim the in-depth parts. I'm not from America and information technology doesn't involvement me at all. Fortunately there isn't a great deal in this book. The featured murder is the married woman of an employee of the president, so there'due south quite a bit of intrigue surrounding candidates and political aspirations. (That'southward the reason I oasis't given it a higher rating, because all this stuff transfers me out of the story). Many US readers probably lap it up.

I'one thousand intending to read this series to the cease though, every bit information technology's good and I'one thousand enjoying it, plus I take all the books including the next ii on sound. I still oasis't warmed up to Sam much and Nick is 'perfect' - then perfect that's he's likewise good to be true. I like the new characters of FBI agent Avery Hill and 'Tink'. Hope they take a romance.

Solid four.v Stars!
This was a seriously fun, fast paced read. It was one thing after another in this volume and it all worked well. At that place is a bit of predictablity merely that might be what makes this Fatal Serial work. The squad is all hands on deck and nosotros get a peek into anybody'south life, well done.
We have a new player, a liaison from the FBI who with fit in just right.
Scotty is a child graphic symbol I oddly enough tin't wait to see in a scene.

Each scandal seems bigger then the terminal! This 1 kept me guessing from beginning to finish. I
Dearest the mode MF writes considering it shows emotions beyond the board and is then relatable because it shows people working to solve the example and problem while also handling a lot of internal issues.

From the moment I picked up the beginning in the Fatal series – Fatal Thing – for free, I've been OBSESSED with Force and the Fatal series. I went and purchased books 2 – 5 over the course of a weekend, and am SO glad I found this series. For those of you who accept not even so read or started this series, Fatal Thing will be costless from all ebook retailers until December 31st. Exit and get your copy at present!

Beware that this review may contain spoilers for previous books in the series!

Sam is on a roll of high profile cases solved, and when she catches the murder of the White Firm deputy chief of staff's married woman (and skillful friend of Nick), she knows this might be the biggest and most complicated case she's had to appointment. Betwixt the missing child and clues that are leading Sam on a wild goose hunt, this case is one that is puzzling even to her.

Alongside the defoliation of Sam's case, things with Nick's career in the Senate are heating upwardly besides. His career is progressing faster and further than he or Sam e'er expected, and it's both thrilling and scary at the same time. Add in the stress of wanting to start a family and this time Sam and Nick might fall under the pressure of their lives.

I am seriously then in love with this series. Although I've only read the kickoff 3 or four In Expiry books, at that place are so many similarities betwixt the ii that any Robb fan will be guaranteed to love this serial. I peculiarly honey that we go the take chances to follow Sam and Nick through all the ups and downs, trials and tribulations of a relationship. One of my favorite aspects of ongoing Urban Fantasy series is that we usually get the chance to follow the same couple through thick and sparse, and the fact that a romantic suspense series has taken on the same theme has me doing a happy dance every time I crack open 1 of these books.

The murder in this story was so unique and different. The twists and turns behind the victim and the conspiracy and everything else was such a mind trip. I kept turning each page and thinking… OMG, OMG, where is Force going to get next?! I honey – admittedly Love – when an author tin do that to me. It doesn't happen often, so when information technology does, information technology makes for a reading feel that is so completely out of this world that I'1000 in a book high for days afterwards.

I retrieve in regards to the romance between Sam and Nick, this book is likewise one of my favorites in the series. Although they've already married and settled into their lives together, they make some big human relationship decisions in this volume. I honey that despite their differences in the way they were raised and their ideas well-nigh relationships, these two are still so desperately in love. But Nick and Sam don't just make an even deeper emotional connexion in this book… Forcefulness wrote the sexiest (IMO) scene in the serial so far in this book. Holy.Smutty.Awesomesauce. Love. Absolutely love beloved love!

I tin't fifty-fifty put into words how much I adore this series and then far. Everything most information technology is and so fabulous. From the ongoing romance between Nick and Sam to their individual characters, careers and situations at that place isn't much I don't dear about this series. The secondary characters are all astonishing, from the other detectives that work with Sam to Nick'due south employees to Sam'southward family unit, every character has made a huge impact on the serial and me personally. I dear the mystery in each volume. Although Sam seems to catch every loftier-profile case in the DC area, each one feels unlike. I accept still to pick up one of the Fatal books and exist bored. I can't recommend this serial plenty!

All in all I absolutely loved this book. I recollect it might be my favorite in the series so far! The romance, the mystery, the ongoing story lines… everything virtually these books has me sitting on the border of my seat and begging for more. I am anxiously awaiting the next in the serial.
I give Fatal Deception an A

Reread i/2016: For a commencement time reader of this volume, it rated meliorate than with a second read 5 for the Cast, Crime 4.5, Procedures and side snark 3.

The story and crime are nonetheless compelling, only I have to mark downwardly for police procedures. The non-sharing of info, the crime against the child didn't go the attention it deserved and a few remarks felt off like it was a completion to find the killer over finding a kid. I think who is advising from a police procedural perspective needs to do a better job. I however beloved the book, the chemistry and ensemble cast is OUTSTANDING and worth the read. Merely keep it loose on expectations on the police force procedural role (Sam is a hotdog and for someone who likes procedurals to be close to reality information technology grates at times). (If you listen to the J.D. Robb series, yous never get those wrong notes when it comes to the procedures. Then this serial can be improved. When it focuses on the cast, it is an outstanding serial.).

Note I beloved the inclusion of Avery Brooks the FBI agent who has the hots for Sam. It's a line that the author worked well because folks could go either way simply I thought it was well, well washed. The Epilogue is nifty, MF wraps up each novel in a very satisfying fashion.

This I retrieve is my favorite book of this series, just when I thought it was falling off a bit... MF comes back with a vengeance. Adding Avery Loma to this cast was admittedly perfect, nothing like unrequited lust to get the juices going.

This one turned up the sexual oestrus a fleck higher than in the past novels not that they were slouches by whatever means. The crime was riveting, nil better.

I listened to Felicity Munroe narrate this, Avery'southward phonation could have been better... but then again the master at Southern Accents is Victor Sleziak (alibi the spelling I bet I blew that ane), NO Ane NARRATES with a southern accent improve.
